What a cracker day yesterday for the River City Wheelrace Carnival. Special shout out to Robert McGuigan for taking the win in the 73rd Edition of the 1500m Wheelrace, Logan Dowdall who won the 1000m Junior Wheelrace and our Youth Riders who raced their first carnival.
We couldn’t do it without an awesome bunch of volunteers going hard behind the scenes and on the day plus our generous sponsors – thank you! And of course thanks to all the riders for supporting us.
ANNOUNCEMENT FROM THE WHANGANUI CYCLING CLUB COMMITTEE
Let’s be honest, the weather forecast is not on our side for the River City Wheelrace this Saturday with strong winds and rain predicted.
With so many of you travelling from out of town the WCC Committee have decided to postpone the 73rd Edition until Saturday February 24th. We hope this early announcement helps your planning over the long weekend.
If you’re unable to make the new date, please let us know and we will refund any entry fees paid. Otherwise we’ll see you on Saturday 24th February!

Access the Cooks Gardens Velodrome via Maria Place Extension, there is plenty of parking on Wilson Street
Sign on/registration is at the WCC Snell Pavilion Clubrooms
Toilets and refreshments will be available at the WCC Snell Pavilion Clubrooms
